How do I create/setup custom nameservers?
Setting Up & Creating Custom Nameservers
The following tutorial will explain how you can setup and create your own custom Nameservers as a reseller.
Creating Nameservers
1) Login to your Primary Reseller cPanel Account
2) Locate Your Shared IP under the ‘Server Information’ section in cPanel.
3) Open the Zone Editor in cPanel & Select ‘A Records’ for your primary domain.
4) Enter the name of your preferred nameservers in the first field, and your Shared IP in the second field. Repeat this for all your namesevers (2 or 4).
Note : We may have multiple Nameservers IP’s, if we do you will be able to locate them in your welcome email and you should only use one IP Per Nameserver.
Setting Up Nameservers
1) Login to your WHM Account
2) Select ‘DNS Functions’ from the menu.
3) Select ‘Edit DNS Zone’ from the next menu.
4) Select your primary domain name and select edit.
5) Create 2 New Records, both with the type of ‘NS’. The first field should contain your domain name, and the last field your nameserver.
Registering Nameservers
1) Login to your Domain Registrar Account.
2) Open Your Domain List & Select Your Domain from the list.
3) Open Advanced DNS & Select the option to create personal/private nameservers OR Select the option to Register Private Nameservers / Glue Records.
4) Enter your nameserver prefix in the namesevers field, and the IP you used to create it earlier in the other field. Repeat this step for all namesevers.
5) If needed Select the ‘Save’, ‘Submit’ or ‘Done’ button.
Setting Up Nameservers
1) Login to your WHM Account.
2) Select ‘Server Configuration’ in the menu, then select ‘Basic cPanel & WHM Setup’.
3) Enter your Registered Nameservers in the fields provided.
4) Click the ‘Save Changes’ button.
If you have followed all these steps correctly, you will now have completely custom nameservers, which will be almost impossible to trace back to our server. If you are still seeing our namesevers in the WhoisHostingThis & Whois database, please contact our support team and we will investigate for you.
